Mobile QR and GPS security patrol in the UK
Mobile QR and GPS security patrol in the UK

Paper books are still common on UK sites. They are also easy to fill in at dawn. Brokers, loss adjusters and construction QS teams increasingly ask for timestamps, distances from the pin, and a map snapshot. That is the gap Reliance Patrol was built to close — first in Hull, now on live contracts across the country.

Dual verification, not a selfie

The officer scans the posted QR with a live camera. GPS must sit inside the checkpoint radius. Tokens belong to that route. Already-scanned points cannot be scanned again. Spoofed locations and teleport jumps are rejected. You see metres from the pin on the verified screen and later on the PDF.

What changes for London, Leeds and a rural compound

A City loading bay, a Leeds retail park and a wind-exposed compound in North Lincolnshire all get the same logic with different radii. Urban sites use tighter geofences. Rural sites allow for GPS drift but still demand a real visit. Clients in Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow and Cardiff log in read-only; they cannot rewrite the rota.

Exporting the night for an insurer

Finish the round, or abort with a reason. Export PDF (up to 48 reports in one pack). Night shifts that cross midnight stay on the same duty date. That is the pack you forward after a claim in Liverpool, Nottingham or Southampton.

Frequently asked questions

Do officers install an app?

No. Site Patrol runs in the mobile browser on HTTPS, with torch control for night rounds.

What if GPS is poor indoors?

Stand still outdoors at the checkpoint where possible. We set radii on the drawing with you.

Can I still keep a paper book?

You can. It will not match the evidential standard of a dual-verified scan.
